Iowa Residents Directory is privately run and serves as a reference to Iowa public rolls, record indexes, and historical directories. It does not hold government records and is not affiliated with an Iowa office, court, or records custodian.
2. Lawful Use Requirements
You may use the site only in ways allowed by law. You must not use its content or a linked result to:
- Stalk, threaten, harass, intimidate, or injure someone
- Find a person whose location is restricted by a protective order
- Carry out identity theft, fraud, or another unlawful act
- Make a decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act
- Scrape or republish large portions of the site's material
- Disrupt the service or attempt to bypass its security
3. Consumer Reports and FCRA
This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. ยง 1681 et seq. The site and linked search tools do not provide consumer reports. Their information must not be used to decide eligibility for a purpose covered by that law.
4. External Services and Links
State and county portals, libraries, and sponsored search providers set their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control their content, uptime, fees, or handling of information you submit.
5. No Guarantee of Accuracy
The service is offered "as is" and "as available," without a warranty. We make no promise that a page or linked portal is complete, current, accurate, available, or able to return a particular result.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss tied to use of the site or an outside resource, including an action taken after viewing a record.
7. Responsibility for Misuse
You agree to protect the site operators from claims, demands, and reasonable legal costs caused by your unlawful use of the service or your breach of these terms.
8. Site Content and Copyright
The site's original writing, logo, visual design, and page layout are protected by copyright. You may link to a page or quote a short excerpt with credit. Do not republish full pages or copy the material at scale.
9. Revisions
We may revise these terms by replacing the text on this page. If you keep using the site after an update, you accept the revised terms.
10. Restricting Access
Access may be blocked or limited, without prior notice, when a user breaks these terms or abuses the service.
11. Iowa Law
Iowa law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Public-record access is addressed by Iowa Code chapter 22. The Iowa Consumer Data Protection Act is codified in Iowa Code chapter 715D.
12. Remaining Terms
If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the other provisions continue to apply.
